There is a scripture in the Bible Proverbs 31:10-31. The verses talks about a wife of noble character who is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, never harm all the days of her life. A little further in the verses it tells how her children rise up and call her blessed and talk of how she gives to the poor because she is a woman who thinks of others and gives of herself. I have watched a few women over the years who are always self-sacrificing, receiving little if any recognition.

A few years ago I came up with an idea to show these women who's lives I have watched that I know how well they have lived their lives. Since I am in the jewelry business I had quite a few pieces of sterling rings, necklaces and brooches that have ruby like stones in them. I began to collect every piece I could find. I have now given out over 12 ruby pieces of jewelry along with a note to these 12 friends. The note tells them how much I appreciate all the love and sacrifice they have given to their families, and they have shown me they are truly a Proverbs 31 woman. Needless to say these women feel so special and wear their piece of jewelry with pride.

I am getting ready to give two more ruby pieces at Christmas. These women have truly earned their ruby piece with many years of service to their family and friends. This is just one nice way to tell someone you love that you want to thank them for being a Proverbs 31 woman.
