Building Reciprocal Links through your Ruby Lane and Ruby Plaza shops Favorite Links PageApril 26, 2011 - 6:28pmThe ‘Favorite Links' section of your Ruby Lane or Ruby Plaza shop is an important component to selling successfully online. Utilizing high quality, reciprocal links is one way to increase the rating of an individual web page in Google and other search engines. Your shop rating influences the rank of your shop in a search result for important keywords relevant to your shops content – the type of items you sell. The higher your page rank, the greater the visibility of your website at the top of a search result.
Adventures of a New Shop Owner on Ruby LaneApril 19, 2011 - 2:44pmI have enjoyed collecting and selling collectibles and farm primitives in an antique store but also wanted to sell online. I did my research and decided to open a Ruby Lane shop in February. It took a weekend to fill out forms and list my ten chosen item. On February 4, I got a gmail saying my shop had been accepted but I needed to make a few changes mainly in categories. I completed the changes and later that evening, Chessie & Nestor Go Antiquing was up and running.

In Praise of Online Created Mailing LabelsApril 12, 2011 - 11:33amAfter 11 years as a shop owner on Ruby Lane, I thought I had experienced almost everything. However, I encountered yet another "first" when an address I tried to use to create a label absolutely refused to work in my online USPS account. I will never willingly hand address another package. I can't recommend highly enough creating shipping labels online to print yourself. They look dramatically more professional than hand written ones, and, further, they eliminate the possibility of errors by workers (and machines) trying to read shippers' handwriting.
What Online Selling has Taught Me about PatienceApril 12, 2011 - 9:01am
When I first started selling online, I was drawn to the fast pace of online auctions. I could buy something on a Saturday, list it on Sunday and have it out of my house the following Monday. Of course I wasn't making much money, but I sure was moving a lot of inventory.
