The following is a the latest scam email we received. It takes a different, more general initial tone than others we have been seeing. Be advised that this is a scam!
The Internet has its obvious advantages. But one that some might view as a negative is that in most cases you can’t “see” and/or easily get to know those with whom you are interacting online. Have you ever wondered who is behind the individual shop home pages on Ruby Lane?
The following is the latest scam email we received. If you’ve seen these before, this may seem like your run-of-the-mill scam email, however there was something particularly disturbing about it: Embedded in the email was a real life photo of a person in a hospital intensive care unit on life support. In our opinion this a new low. Of course we are publishing this without the photo. 
Selling online guarantees the road to riches, right?
If you’re selling online or plan to, you’ll want to be sure to decide what your site’s return policy will be. But do you really need a return policy? Statistics show that if you want to achieve success in the online marketplace, the simple answer is “yes”. 
The following email was received by several members of the Ruby Lane staff on November 27, 2007. This is just one of many we receive on a regular, ongoing basis as do many of our shop owners. This particular one is especially typical of scams that are being conducted all over the Internet. We are posting this to illustrate to readers what these scams look like in order to help you identify one when (not if) you receive one.
