What's This? Can you identify the period this brooch was made?

Hello,

Last year I bought a jewelry lot and one of the items was this brooch. I can not find from which period it is, and what the value could be. I actually planned to sell it, but while investigating this piece I grow more and more fond of it! The last week it has been sitting on my desk and everyday I did some research. What I found up to now has led to the following assumptions:

What's This? A reader needs your help?

The only information that I have about this piece is that it was left to me, by my Mother who passed away over a decade ago. I have no idea what it is and would like someone to identify it for me. I have a few photos that show it in detail. I don't know what it is, when it was made, or how it works. It has a gold stamp on the back, and some sort of primitive looking stamp that looks like a "1X" to me.......but I can't tell for certain.

To whom it may concern,  My mother has 2 vases which were her parents' who are sadly deceased. She is trying to sort out the rest of their things. I have been trying to research them and came across a few sites which mention Angelica Kauffmann and the Beehive markings.

What's This? Do you know anything about this clock?

I have a Whiz electric clock that measures 15 inches square from the Hollingshead Corp, in Camden NJ. The clock is metal, green on the edges with the red Whiz logo in the middle with the words: polishes, waxes, lubricates, motor rythym, tune-up in a large circle around the center. The clock works beautifully and is in really nice shape. Was wondering if anyone might be interested in it or if they could tell me anything about it or its value. Thank you for your help!

What's This? A Notes from the Lane reader needs help identifying this 'mystery' item

Hi,

We are pondering the purpose of the item in the attached picture.  It's about 5 inches tall and looks like something should screw into the top.  The three prongs off the middle are on springs and the little metal 'paws' make a bell sound when pinged off the brass.  It looks like there were originally 6 prongs coming off it from soldering marks.  Any help you can provide on identifying this item would be greatly appreciated.  It's driving us crazy!!

What's This?

Hi,

Am hoping for help in identify this. I actually have 3 different pictures, each numbers with a title and marked Made in U.S.A. They each measure 5 1/4" tall and 4 1/4" wide. Were they part of some free advertising? They all appear to be from the 20's or 30's. Any info would be appreciated
