Thoughts for the Day: Word Choice

Ruby Lane Customer Care & Share: Word Choice

Using weak words or including unnecessary words to fluff up your sentences can dilute the impact of your message. Try to choose descriptive words that really say what you mean.

WEAK: I read the report last night
STRONG: I studied the report last night
FLUFFY: I think we have the ability to make a decision regarding making changes to the new call center staffing policy
CONSISE: We can change the call center staffing policy
If you substitute weak words for stronger ones and cut out all unnecessary word fluff, you can convey your ideas with greater impact.

(Note: ‘If you substitute weak words for stronger ones’ – this phrase means the opposite in UK English.)

Raynaud & Co Limoces France Circa 1920s - 1930s ? 111 Piece Set

I just Inherited a 111 Piece Dinnerware set o Raynaud French Limoges I believe from in between 1920s- 1930s because of the research ive done from the markings in the back. Is in great excellent condition, is gold scalloped trim with flowers and birds. If anyone happens to know the name of the pattern of the exact years I will appreciate some help in identifying the pieces. I also will love to know the value of it or any guidance toward learning more about it. There are different markings on the back. I have pictures of everything that I can send
