Arts & Crafts Movement, Art Deco, Art Nouveau
February 20, 2008 - 3:30pm
The Arts and Crafts Movement in California - Living the Good Life. Kenneth R. Trapp, Curator of Decorative Arts, The Oakland Museum, Oakland, California. With eight scholarly essays by Leslie Greene Bowman, The Cincinnati Museum. Abbeville Press, Inc., January 1993. If you love the types of items that the artists and craftspeople of the Arts and Crafts period produced this is a must-have book. Although it primarily covers the period with a California slant, the information is very useful for any aficionado of the times, since some artisans came to the area from elsewhere, or later moved. The color photos in the book are extraordinary. the next best thing to visiting a museum or high-end collection of decorative arts from this era. Ruby Lane Staff CS
