Over the weekend just passed, I decided to inspect my stock. It was about time I checked were it was and to see if it was still all in one piece, especially al my china... I am lucky enough to have a shed in my garden. Well, not a shed exactly, more an outhouse but that sounds far too grand! It's a little brick built shed which is just perfect for stock. I only go in there to put recently listed stock away or to find items which have sold. It's been a while since I went in there just to have a look through. I enjoyed rummaging among some wonderful items and it got me thinking...

I wonder who will be on the receiving end of my future sales, bought as Christmas presents for loved ones? Before I knew it, I was mentally organizing my items for particular groups of people. We shouldn't forget that first and foremost Christmas is a Christian festival, celebrating the birth of Christ. So who will take pleasure in this 1938 Collins Emerald Common Prayer Book with Hymns or this Edwardian Christian wall plaque? Hmm, perhaps your local Reverend? Or is it Pastor over in the US? Well, either would be ideal for any church going family member or friend.

Going through some jewelry I found this super cute Art Deco, pivoting diamante fairy/ Tinker Bell pendant. Perfect for a daughter or granddaughter. What a wonderful keepsake gift for a first Christmas. Then I discovered this gorgeous Edwardian brooch by Thomas L Mott. It would look beautiful on anyone's blouse, sweater or lapel. An aunt or grandmother perhaps. What about a gifts for loved ones who enjoy particular hobbies? Baking, sewing, Bridge, fishing...

Of course, there is always someone who is impossible to buy for. The one person who seemingly has everything and does not want anything! Clearly this cannot be true and therefore, there must be something rare or unusual that would be of interest. A 1950s clothes brush in the shape of a duck, miniature character jugs or what about some 1950s stockings?!

Then there's Dad, he's always hard to buy for but here are a few ideas that will keep him busy and far from grumpy on the special day: a vintage policeman's truncheon, a 1930s tie press, a vintage alarm clock or a general service whistle(GSM).

Oh, and don't forget Mum! She'll love this 1914 Blue Enamel Cavalry Officer's sweetheart brooch.
